NIVA's Statement on The U.S. Department of Justice and 30 State Antitrust Lawsuit
NIVA is in full support of actions that level the competitive playing field for all those in the live music and entertainment industry.
The U.S. Department of Justice announced that they and 30 state attorneys general are bringing suit against Live Nation for "Monopolizing Markets Across the Live Concert Industry".
“NIVA is in full support of actions that level the competitive playing field for all those in the live music and entertainment industry. We hope that the suit filed today will ultimately produce a meaningful result that will benefit fans, artists, independent venues and festivals, along with the businesses that surround us across the country. We’ll be analyzing and evaluating the DOJ’s case in the coming days.”
— Stephen Parker, Executive Director of the National Independent Venue Association
We will keep members updated on this development as we take the time to dig into and figure out what this means for all of us.
